Length of Contract: 190-240 days; 8 hours per day

                                                                                                                                                 

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The School-Based Health Center Coordinator (SBHCC) coordinates all aspects of the School-Based Health Center.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Friendly customer service skills

Proficient typing, word processing, and file maintenance skills

Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and perform word processing

Calm and patient demeanor with all patrons

 

Experience:

Previous experience in a health or mental health-related field preferred.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 

  1. Demonstrate relentless commitment to the academic achievement of all students.

  1. Articulate a clear direction for all students and staff; articulate a positive image of the school district and school district personnel.

 

  1. Build strong partnerships with families, students, staff, and medical partners, as well as with local, state, and national groups.

 

  1. Network with the community to locate and coordinate with dental, vision, and/or mental health partners.

 

  1. Seek, write and obtain additional grant awards for the SBHC.

 

  1. Complete monthly and quarterly grant reports.

 

  1. Work with schools and families to enroll students into the SBHC

 

  1. Work with families to provide access to resources needed to help their child succeed in school.

 

  1. Attend all meetings/conferences required as part of the SBHC grant.

 

  1. Manage grant funds, donation reports, and inventory.

 

  1. Manage the daily activities in the SBHC, including without limitation, scheduling student and staff appointments and providing transportation for students.

 

  1. Coordinate, monitor, and supervise Medicaid billing to ensure accuracy, including without limitation, speech, medical, and mental health services.

 

  1. Monitor HIPPA and FERPA requirements.

 

  1. Report to the proper authorities any cases of suspected child endangerment, neglect, or abuse.

 

  1. Work closely with the Mental Health Coordinator and Nursing Supervisor, and ARcare to coordinate services for students.

 

  1. Other duties as assigned.
